rissa has some of the most beautiful ancient buildings and temples. Some of the constructions date back to the 3rd century BC. Visit Orissa to see the 2300 yrs old Udaigiri-Khandgiri caves, the 11th century Sun temple, the 7th century Lingraja temple or the 12th century Jagannath temple. Though most of the ancient buildings got destroyed by the vagaries of time, some of them still stand tall and retain the old charm. The Sun temple at Konark has been declared as world heritage site by UNESCO.
