Himalayan Wonders
HIGH ALTITUDE TREKS
Trekking in Sikkim can be a wonderful experience - an antidote to city stress of daily life - and its memories are cherished lifelong. Most of the trekking routes are in remote areas having just a herders hut and some have nothing at all but just a wilderness and you wonder how they derive their names in the first place. While trekking one relish the pure air and the silence of the wilderness and feels the awakening of senses dulled by urban living. As one walks through the vales and dales past quaint villages, mountains take up strange and wonderful shapes and the beauty of the Himalayas unfolds before you. As you trek, identifying the peaks, mountains, rivers and places around you becomes a good past time. And whether you can climb the next hilltop becomes more important than anything else in life. From a distance these mountains seem formidable and unapproachable but as you near them they seem to welcome you into a forest, vibrant with life.
Trekking is for all age groups. One does not have to be a professional climber to enjoy the serenity and sublime beauty of the mountains. Although each and every nook and corner of Sikkim - from sultry tropical forest in the south to howling wilderness in the north, or razor's edge Singalila range in the west to undulating Chola range in the east is a trekker's paradise, following are some of the most rewardable high altitude treks we operate.
Our treks in Sikkim are supported by a team of Dzo’s (mixture of Yak & cow) or ponies. Tents, food, baggage, accompany us each day. This leaves you with just to carry a daypack with water bottle, camera, your valuables and walking part. Everyday, the camp will be set by the trekking staff, hot meals cooked by trained and professional cooks will be served, The guides have been trained to select the best available campsites based on the itinerary and also take decision in case of emergency or mountain sickness.
