Tour Itinerary

bhubaneswar

Day 01: BHUBANESWAR

Arrival Bhubaneswar (you can fly via Del/BOM/CHENNAI/KOL) and transfer to a decent hotel to rewind the jet lag.

During evening visit the peace pagoda at Dhabalgiri where Ashoka changed from violence to nonviolence and spread the Buddhism to south East Asia. Witness the light and sound show which explains the rich history of Odisha. (EXCEPT MON DAY)

Day 02: BHUBANESWAR-KONARK

After breakfast checkout and then explore the temples of the temple city in an chronological manner where our knowledgeable guide will explain you the evolution of Kalingan style of temple architecture from 7th till 12th century.

Then proceed to Konark via the Yogini temple at Hirapur village, the bell metal work and patch work at Pipili. Sunset by the beach and visit Sand Art fest.

Stay in eco cottages at the beach side (need to book well in advance). During evening visit the Dance festival at Konark.

Day 03: KONARK

During Sun rise, morning Yoga and then after breakfast visit the 13th century world heritage site sun temple KONARK where the language of stone defeats the language of human.

Afternoon by the sand art fest and evening by the Konark Dance Festival.

Day 04: PURI

Depart for the holy city Puri (1 hr drive) and explore the holy city and its old lanes by our Green rider Rickshaw tour. Visit to a VEDA school to witness the powerful chanting as the students learn Veda since ages though chanting only.

Stay at a hotel near sea side.

Free evening for self or Yoga during evening by our trained instructor.

Day 05: PURI

Today we shall visit the artisan village Raghurajpur where you will have a full day programme on patta painting and workshop with local guru to learn the basic of Gotipua Dance which is an early form of Odissi dance.

Lunch in the village and back to Puri beach during sunset.

Day 06: PURI

In the morning you will go to local market for shopping daily products like vegetable, spices , fish etc as you will be taking an lesson on typical Odihan cooking .

During evening join a workshop of Odishi Dance with local teacher here.

Day 07: CHILIKA LAKE

Depart Puri for Satapada at Chilika lake which is the largest brackish water lake in Asia. Here you will take a boat trip to meet dolphins in nature as well as spend a day with local fishermen. Stay at our community based tourism initiative in Bamboo by the lake .(under construction).

Day 08: DHENKANAL

Morning depart for Dhenkanal via the textile weavers village where you will see the unique tie and dye weaving by the master weavers , then the lost wax process metal work - Dhokra at Sadeibaruni village. Check in to the PALACE of the local KING for an authentic Royal experience.

During sunset meet the MAHIMA MONKS at their SUNSET PRAYER which is a very special experience.

Day 09: LALITGIRI-BHITARAKANIKA

Morning departure for Bhitarakanika via the Buddhist excavated cite LALITGIRI-RATNAGIRI-UDAY GIRI which is a contemporary to NALANDA .Stay at the Palace of the local King near BHITARKANIKA national park and mangrove forest .(your better substitute to Sunderban because of its natural beauty and habitat).

Day 10: BHITARAKANIKANP

A day in the mangrove forest by boat, hike etc to meet the nature at the mangrove forest. You will meet large number of crocodiles, birds, reptiles, deer's etc as you cruise through the creeks of this very special mangrove forest and river delta.

Stay at the Palace at Ali.

Day 11: KOLKATTA

Drive back to Bhubaneswar (4 hrs) and board the flight for Kolkatta. Transfer to hotel of choice.During evening dinner at a typical Bengali restaurant.

Day 12: KOLKATTA

Walking tour in the morning to meet the life at the city of Joy and during afternoon trip to other highlights like Mother Teresa house, Jain temple, Kalitemple etc.

Day 13: PURULIA

Board the morning train to PURULIA (4 HRS) which is the home land for Chhou dance (mask dance). Here we shall have interesting workshop with local dancers and stay two nights at a basic place to explore the life at this plateau of Birbhum. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chhau_dance)

Day 14: PURULIA

A day to explore the tribal villages, their arts and crafts etc around Purulia.

Day 15: SHANTINEEKETAN

Drive to Asansol to board the train to Shantineekatan which is the land of famous poet Rabindranath Tagore and an integral part of Benagali life .Visit Biswabharati University which is the centre for dance, music and art. Here we conclude our trip to Eastern INDIA with a session of BOUL MUSIC with famous artists.

Day 16: KOLKATTA and FLY OUT FOR ONWARD INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT

Morning train to Kolkatta and then fly to Delhi/Mumbai for your onward journey.

  • This is a nice plan which covers the local dance, music , culture , cusine, nature, history and the daily life where our guests can not only visit the place but also can participate with various events to gain authentic experience or making the journey meaningful.
